Greensboro, North Carolina (June 20, 2017) — NC REALTORS® Past President and current Winston-Salem Regional Association of REALTORS® President Lou Baldwin was recently awarded the Federal Political Coordinator Meritorious Service Award from the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR).
Federal Political Coordinators are NAR members that communicate regularly with an assigned member of the United States Congress on behalf of the REALTOR® Party. The FPC Service Award is granted annually to two FPC members who have demonstrated exceptional service. According to NAR’s website, “Recipients of this award will meet rigorous set of criteria that will set them apart from other FPCs. They will demonstrate a strong relationship with their assigned member of Congress and a willingness to educate Capitol Hill on issues most pressing to the real estate industry.”
“This highly coveted Meritorious Service Award is awarded to two outstanding individuals annually out of a REALTOR membership of over 1.3 million members in the United States. Lou has distinguished himself in a manner few others have accomplished. It is a great honor to have Lou as a member of NC REALTORS®,” stated CEO Andrea Bushnell.
Baldwin has served as the FPC to U.S. Senator Richard Burr throughout the senator’s 23 years in Congress. The second winner, Jon Nichols of the Texas Association of REALTORS®, served as the FPC to U.S. Representative John Culberson. The award was presented to Baldwin and Nichols at NAR’s Legislative Meetings. The two were also honored with a permanent plaque on the roof of the REALTOR® Building in Washington, D.C.
