5 Things To Do This Weekend

Take a look to see what’s going on in North Carolina this weekend:

The North Carolina Museum of Art

Take the Meet Your Museum Tour, this Saturday at 12:30 p.m., and browse over 40 galleries of artwork, an outdoor amphitheater, and a museum park (the nation’s largest) that spans 164 acres! Then dine at Iris, the museum’s full-service restaurant featuring contemporary American cuisine with regional and international flavors. While you’re in Raleigh, be sure to visit Morrisville, rated the 2017 #1 Best Suburb to Buy a House in North Carolina by Niche.

Wilmington’s NC Coastal Craft Brewery Tour

Explore all of the different local craft brews Wilmington has to offer. Slowly cruise downtown Wilmington in a mini brew bus, as you learn about beer and the brewing process from a professional beer guru. There is a Saturday evening tour and a Sunday Funday tour that takes place in the afternoon. Be sure to arrive 15 minutes early for a timely departure!

Lake Norman Cottage

Should you find yourself enjoying the lake life this weekend in Davidson, be sure to stop by this waterfront wine shop within a shop. Sip and choose from a selection of new and current wines, while you shop for books, gourmet foods, candles, and other goods.

Rated #40 on Forbes list for Best Place for Business and Careers, finding something to do in this beautiful mountain town isn’t hard. Grab a cocktail at one of the many rooftop hangouts like SkyBar and Thirsty Monk, where you can enjoy the view from the top of Asheville’s tallest buildings. Or visit the Biltmore House, where you can take a tour of George W. Vanderbilt’s winter chateaux and explore the century-old gardens. There are also many family activities to do in nearby Antler Hill Village.

Grab a Paddle

The NOC Paddle Grapple takes place this Saturday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Fontana Lake in the Great Smoky Mountains. Choose from stand up paddle board, kayak, or canoe classes to race in, with three and six mile options to accommodate all skill classes. Sponsored by Nantahala Outdoor Center, Nantahala Racing Club and Dagger Kayaks.
