Our charitable organization has impacted communities throughout our state in meaningful ways recently. Here are just a few examples of these activities.
In September 2017, Directors of Homes4NC teamed with local associations to present checks to worthy nonprofits in the respective local associations’ communities.
On September 6, Homes4NC Vice President Bob Bates presented a check to the Crystal Coast Habitat for Humanity for $3.062.41. This matches a gift from Carteret County Association of REALTORS®.
On September 25, Homes4NC Directors Tessa Hultz and Kim Dawson presented The Green Chair Project a check for $2,500. This matched a grant from the Raleigh Regional Association of REALTORS® through their foundation, called REALTOR® Foundation of Wake County.
On Wednesday, October 4, the Homes4NC golf team consisting of Directors Jody Wainio, Mark Connor, James McDuffie and NCR CFO Bryan Jenkins placed third in the charity golf tournament at North Shore Country Club. The Topsail Island Association of REALTORS® host this tournament each year to benefit the good work of Homes4NC.
On Saturday, October 7, Homes4NC Directors Phyllis Furr St. Clair, Elaine Anderson, Sofia Crisp and NCR Community Outreach Director Nicole Arnold traveled to Fayetteville to rehab homes impacted by Hurricane Matthew on the one year anniversary of this storm. Homes4NC worked with their family members and volunteers across the state who responded to Governor Cooper's call for a statewide service day on October 7. Homes4NC volunteers rehabbed homes that last year had up to 2 feet of standing water in them from Hurricane Matthew flooding.
This effort brought full circle Homes4NC's commitment to North Carolina victims who lost their housing during the state's worst natural disaster in recent memory. Earlier this year, Homes4NC managed the disbursement of over $300,000 to over 300 families who qualified for aid from the REALTOR® Relief Fund.
