Julie Woodson
Director of Public Affairs

Julie Woodson joined the NC Association of REALTORS® as director of public affairs in January 2007. She came to the association after serving in a similar role for the NC Pork Council for two years. Previously, Woodson spent five years as director of governmental affairs for NC Citizens for Business & Industry (NCCBI), the state chamber of commerce and its largest business group. A native of Sanford, Woodson is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.


Tim Kent
Executive Vice President

Tim Kent has served as chief executive officer for the NC Association of REALTORS®, an organization of more than 40,000 members, since October 2000. Prior to joining the association, Kent spent 10 years as CEO of the American Institute of Architects, North Carolina Chapter. He has been awarded the Certified Association Executive (CAE) designation from the American Society of Association Executives and the Center for Association Leadership. A 1976 graduate of the University of Southern California, Kent enjoyed a distinguished 13-year career in television news.


Rick Zechini
Director of Government Affairs

Rick Zechini joined the NC Association of REALTORS® in November 2002 as director of regulatory affairs. He represents the association before the legislature, regulatory boards and commissions, and also conducts research to assist the association’s leadership in developing policy positions and government relations strategy. Zechini previously worked for the state legislature for four years. A native of Lynchburg, Va., he graduated from North Carolina State University in 1992 and received his law degree from Washington and Lee University in 1997.


Kevin Brafford
Director of Communications

Kevin Brafford joined the NC Association of REALTORS® as director of communications in March 2006. Previously, he served as senior editor of North Carolina Magazine for nearly five years and prior to that tenure, he was a writer, columnist and editor for 16 years at six daily newspapers in four states. Brafford, a native of Lexington, is a 1983 graduate of the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.
