High Country Association of REALTORS®

My name is Bill Aceto a member of High Country Association of REALTORS® in Boone, and I am honored to announce my candidacy for 2018 Finance and Budget Committee for NC REALTORS®.  I became involved with NC REALTORS® in 2014 when I attended the annual legislative meetings in Raleigh and completed the NC REALTORS® Leadership academy in 2015.  The academy was a excellent opportunity that allowed me to meet the current and future leaders of our REALTOR® organization and provide a foundation of the inner workings of our organization.  I have also served on the Legislative Committee & Information Management Committee. At the local level I have served on the MLS Committee, Treasurer of both MLS & Board, currently President Elect for 2019.   Professionally I am broker co/owner of Blue Ridge Realty & Investments, LLC; a real estate firm with 35+ agents with 6 office locations & Co-owner / BIC of Blue Ridge Professional Property Services, LLC; a property management company that handles Long Term Rentals, Vacation Rentals, POA Management, & Absentee Home Care.  I look forward to continue to serve the REALTOR® community and ask and thank you for your vote and confidence as we aim for continued success as NC REALTORS®.

Brunswick County Association of REALTORS®

I feel that getting involved is important for personal growth and to further our profession.  Since becoming a North Carolina REALTOR® in 2012, I have served on the education committee, budget and finance committee, nominating committee, bylaws/policy committee, strategic planning committee and board of directors.   In addition, in 2016 I was honored to be the recipient of the Rising Star Award.

Prior to real estate, I was with Krispy Kreme in international sourcing.  I have travelled to many different countries and appreciate the cultural differences as well as what we can learn from each other.   In 2008 I earned an MBA from Gardner-Webb University.

I would be honored to serve on the Finance and Budget committee.

I am once again honored to have the opportunity to submit my application to be part of the Finance Committee.  I understand that the stewardship of an organization is of the utmost importance.  Having served as both Treasurer and President of the Charlotte Regional REALTOR® Association and the Carolinas Multiple Listing Service, I know that a sound financial basis allows an association to make the best decisions for its membership, as opposed to making decisions based on the lack of resources.

Since the end of my term as President of our local association, I have continued to serve on the Audit Budget Finance and Professional Standards Committee, as well as an NC REALTORS® director. I am and always have been proud of being a REALTOR® and serving both the community and the membership of our association in order to serve my profession.   I would truly appreciate the ability to serve our membership in this capacity.

John Wood photoJohn Wood, GRI
Raleigh Regional Association of REALTORS®

I am honored to be a Candidate for the NC REALTORS® (NCR) Finance Committee.  As a REALTOR® since 1988 I have developed a passion to serve our industry in a variety of ways.  Over the last 13 years I have actively served my local board in Raleigh (RRAR), NCR, and NAR in a variety of capacities including as RRAR President (09), NCR Regional Vice President (10/11) and NAR Director for 5 years (09-13)  Currently I am a member of the Triangle MLS Board of Directors, a committee member of the NCR Raleigh Real Property Operations Committee (Heck-Andrews)  and serve in several roles at RRAR including Professional Standards, Mediator, and New Member Instructor for the Code of Ethics.

The NC REALTORS® Finance Committee falls within the passion I have in serving our industry.  I am a strong believer that associations should be good stewards of our member’s dues dollars.  Those that have served with me in the past have witnessed that I am always prepared for the meetings and have taken pride to understand the financials.  From 2009 to 2012 I was deeply engaged at RRAR, NCR, and NAR to help find solutions so those organizations could not only survive those difficult times, but to also continue to serve the members that needed the help and support of their REALTOR® Associations.

As the proud Broker/Owner of RE/MAX United based in the Triangle my daily focus is to serve the REALTORS® at our company.  Outside of real estate I’m actively involved in my Rotary Club, my Church and in Boy Scouts.

Thank you for your Support and Vote to serve on the NC REALTORS® Finance Committee.

NAR Director (Number of Directors to be elected determined after July 31)

Lou Baldwin photoLou Baldwin, GRI

I will be honored if, elected, to represent North Carolina REALTORS® as an NAR Director. I will bring experience having served 6 years as a Director and serving on numerous NAR Committees including Strategic Thinking, Realtor Party Member Involvement, Realtor Political Involvement, Broker Involvement Council, Meetings & Events, Member Communications and Consumer Communications, where I currently serve as the Past-Chairman. I have served on NAR Presidential Advisory and Work Groups, including current service on the NAR Brand Work Group. I am a 2011 Graduate of NAR’s Leadership Academy. I have served as the Federal Political Coordinator to U.S. Senator Richard Burr for 24 years and was honored to receive NAR’s Federal Political Coordinator Meritorious Service Award in 2017. I am a Crystal R President’s Circle Major Donor to RPAC.

I believe the depth and breadth of my experience will allow me to serve you well as a Director.  While my experience is deep, such as my NAR Committee Chairmanship, I also have a wide breadth of experience through 18 appointments to 11 different NAR committees, work groups or academies.

As a Past-President of NC REALTORS® and a past two-term local President, I will bring a local, state and national perspective to this opportunity. My service as an NAR Director will always be active, I will not just fill a seat but will actively lead in delivering great outcomes for our membership, our communities and our nation. I am grateful to have been named your 2017 NC REALTOR® of the Year and I am passionate about continuing to serve. It is truly an honor to be a “REALTOR® in the Arena.”

I will greatly appreciate your support for NAR Director.

Sandra O'Connor photoSandra O’Connor, ABR, CIPS, CRB, GRI
Greensboro Regional REALTORS® Association

I am a candidate for NCR NAR Director.  It was a privilege to serve as NAR’s Region 4 Vice President representing the states of KY, TN, SC and NC in 2015. That allowed me to also serve on NAR’s Executive Committee.  In 2014 I was named NCR’s REALTOR of the Year. I served as NCR President in 2009 and Treasurer 2006-2007.  I was a member of NCR’S Executive Committee from 2003-2010 and in 2016. I served as an NAR Director from 2008-2013 and currently since 2016. It would be a privilege to continue to represent you.

With your help I would like to represent NCR.  I believe a Director should have the skills to advocate and communicate with members and NAR.  Through my current service as an NAR REALTOR® Party for Campaign Services member I am in touch with issues that affect our industry and our ability to do business together.

As a member of the RPAC Hall of Fame and six years as a Federal Political Coordinator I am sensitive to issues that promote and protect private property rights.  I will be a strong and fair representative for NCR.

Our business is nothing if it is not a relationship business.  Through my participation I have had the opportunity to establish some strong relationships and to seize the opportunity to develop new ones. If I am sitting in that seat, it is you who will be seated there!  As an NAR Director I will be available to hear your ideas, concerns and suggestions and will bring back timely information. I will work to connect you wherever you would like to be connected, one relationship at a time.  Thank you for your consideration and your vote!

Cape Fear REALTORS®

Thank you for taking the time to learn about the NAR Director candidates. This is the opportunity you have to vote for the NCR member that you feel does their best to represent you on the national level. It has been one of the most rewarding parts of my career, advocating for you, serving you and working hard to understand our industry needs.

Advocating for property rights and the needs of our industry is the foundation of my desire to serve as an NAR Director. I have been active at the national level in many different ways, from serving on the Flood Insurance Committee, Issues Mobilization Committee, to helping to rewrite policy for Land Use, Property Rights and Environment Committee.  Public Policy Coordinating Committee is where I am serving now.

In 2013 I had the honor of serving as your North Carolina REALTORS® President. It was an exciting and very busy year. During that year, while at National Association of REALTORS® meetings in Washington D.C., I had one of the most memorable opportunities; with the help of many, I was privileged to place a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknowns in Arlington on behalf of you, the NC REALTOR® member.

Often times, we are given opportunities to serve in exciting ways. I currently have the honor of serving as the Federal Political Coordinator for Congressman David Rouzer in D.C.  In this role I am personally in touch with the Congressman and his staff, as regulations and legislation are considered in Washington.

As a Golden R®, member of the Presidents Circle and NAR RPAC Hall of Fame, I work to stay involved and informed. I respectfully ask for your vote to serve you on the national level as an NAR Director from North Carolina.

Stephanie Walker photoStephanie Walker, ABR, CRS, GRI, RSPS, SFR, SRES
Outer Banks Association

Why I ask for your vote?
You deserve someone who can and will make a difference.  Someone who will make certain the voices of the North Carolina REALTORS® are heard at the National Level.  You deserve a Director who can pick up the phone or send an email to have a current issue addressed expeditiously. Someone who will assist our NCR members find opportunities best suited to their expertise at the national level.

National Association of REALTORS® Experience
I have been actively engaged at NAR since 2005, serving as committee Chair 5 times and Vice Chair 3 times.  I have been appointed to 4 Presidential Advisory Groups (PAG) including Professionalism, National Flood Insurance, Election, and NFIP Implementation and was a member of the Workgroup who designed NAR’s Resort Property Certification (RSPS). Most recently I served on both the Commitment to Excellence and the Interpretations and Procedures Advisory Boards. I have also served as a member of the Expanded Leadership Team serving as Liaison in 2015.

It is my honor to have served as NCR President in 2011, as an NAR Director since 2010 and to currently serve as Chair of the NCR Leadership Academy.

I am happy to address questions or issues any time and I appreciate your consideration.

My commitment to the REALTOR® family is evidenced by over 26 years of continuous service through elected positions, volunteer roles and community outreach opportunities at the local, state and national levels.

Giving back to the communities in which we live is essential to maintaining the level of professionalism that customers/clients expect and deserve. In my roles as president of the GRRA and BCAR, I worked with colleagues to ensure volunteerism was a core objective. Examples of this focus include Get a Kid Ready for School, Bicycles for Kids, Holiday for the Homeless, Habitat for Humanity, etc.

My commitment to my own professional growth as well as that of the boards on which I have served has led me to teach workshops, facilitate planning sessions statewide, support continuing education, mentor and explore new approaches to staff and agent development.

My roles at the national level have included participation in Diversity, Education and NAGLREP committees. State level I have served as NCREEF, CRS president, Executive Committee member, Leadership Academy Commissioner, Governance Task Force, Strat planning Voting task force and NC REALTORS® Board of Directors.

I value my experience serving as NAR Director for over 7 years as part of the REALTOR® family and I would appreciate the opportunity to continue to represent you as an NAR Director.

Regional Vice President (One candidate elected in each region by members of their region only)

Connie Corey photoRegion 3 – Connie Corey, GRI, SLS
Greenville-Pitt Association of REALTORS®

It is with great honor that I have been asked to seek the office of RVP for Region 3.  Having held many positions within Greenville-Pitt Association of REALTORS®, NC REALTORS® and National Association of REALTORS®, I have seen many changes over the past 31 years.  There have been many volunteers that are no longer with us or active within our Association.  I feel having been continually active in many aspects of our Association, I can bring history, knowledge and vision to our future advancements.  We are an Association of diversity, education, political advocacy, consumer protection and member advancement.  Our Association has accomplished great things over the last decades.  We have a strong voice in Raleigh and Washington, DC.

I think my experience will bring valuable input into the decisions that are going to need to be made by our Executive Committee.  We are strong financially and ethically.  However, there are forces that are coming at our industry daily.  We have some huge struggles and challenges ahead of us.   With your vote and support, I would like the privilege to serve as RVP for Region 3 and be a voice for all our members.

Thank you again, for the opportunity to continue to serve our members.

I believe in service before self and thus I am seeking the position as Region 4 RVP.  Having held a North Carolina Real Estate license for the past 33 years has taught me much.  I love the real estate business and I would like the opportunity to give back to the profession that has been so good to me.

Being a past president of Durham Regional and Orange Chatham Association of REALTORS® has well prepared me for this position as has graduating from NCR Leadership Academy and Triangle Leadership Academy.

It would be my honor to represent the NCR members of Region 4.

Penny Boyles photoRegion 6 – Penny Boyles, CRS, GRI
Winston-Salem Regional Association

Originally from Wilkes County, I’ve lived in Yadkin County, Forsyth and Stokes County.  My real estate career allows me to enjoy the more rural countryside of Stokes, Surry, Yadkin & Wilkes in addition to the Winston-Salem and small surrounding communities.  I understand the challenges REALTORS® face working in the rural areas as well as the issues that arise in working with larger municipalities.

Self-employed from age 25, I started my real estate career with a large franchise firm in 1992. I opened my own firm in 2011.  This familiarity of large and small firms offers me a unique perspective of the industry.

I am proud to be a REALTOR®. I believe involvement and volunteering for our local and state associations is not only instrumental in our professional development but also helps build long-lasting relationships with other like-minded REALTORS® across the state and country.   I have found my fellow REALTORS® to be extended family and I enjoy being someone they can trust with their questions, concerns and referrals.

Over the last 20 years, I have served my local Association, Carolina Regional REALTOR® Association in a variety of positions.  President in 2012. I continue to serve at a local level as a director of the Housing Opportunity Foundation. I have had the opportunity to serve on both the State level with NC REALTORS® and with National Association of REALTORS®. Currently at NC REALTORS®, I am on the Forms Committee, Joint Forms Committee and also serve as a Director. I believe in giving back to the industry that has been my career, my life and extended family for over 20 years. In serving, I have found that I always receive far more than I have given. I would like to continue that service by running as a candidate for the Region 8 RVP. I will give the same dedication to the position of RVP as I have to all of the other positions that it has been a privilege to serve.

It has been my honor to have served as many different Chairs of Committees, as well as the Secretary Treasure (2014), President Elect (2015), President (2016), Past President (2017) for the Raleigh Regional Association of REALTORS®.  While serving I have gained a deep appreciation and knowledge of all that our association does for its members and the welfare of homeowners’ rights.  Although I may be taking on a little more of a back seat position to allow new leadership to come forward, I pledge to continue to work diligently on behalf of all our members.  I feel it is important to give back to an organization and profession that has been good to me.  It is for the reason I wish to continue to stay involved and by serving as the Regional Vice President for Region 10 I can continue to bring back vital information to our members that can impact our industry.  Additionally, I am considering becoming a little more involved on the State level so this position will help me learn more if the intricacies at that level.

I respectfully ask for your consideration and thank you for your support to be elected as Regional Vice President for Region 10.

Be Epic. Be an NC REALTOR®.
