SUMMARY:Appraisal | Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac Valuation Policy Update
DESCRIPTION:Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac\, also known as the Government Sponsored Entities (GSEs)\, are gearing up for the introduction of the new appraisal report starting September 2025 with recent valuation policy changes. But some of their existing policies on the use of property data reports\, measurement of homes\, and a general shift of appraisal requirements from subjective opinion to fact-based analysis\, are sometimes still met with confusion from appraisers and agents alike. Join NAR to learn how the recent changes to GSE policies affect agents and appraisers\, and get a break down on existing policies that shape what home valuation for conventional financing looks like. \nScott Reuter\, Single-Family Director of Valuation at Freddie Mac\, and Lyle Radke\, Principal of Collateral Policy for Fannie Mae\, join host\, Candy Cooke\, to break down the basics\, share hot topics and share GSE information that REALTORS® need to know.

How can appraisers feel like they belong? And what do appraisers gain with their work with NAR? \nJoin NAR for a conversation with five of the many appraiser REALTORS® in leadership positions throughout the organization\, as they share how they got involved\, what they’ve been able to accomplish\, why other appraisers should get involved\, and how.

SUMMARY:Appraisal | The New Uniform Appraisal Dataset: What REALTORS® Need to Know
DESCRIPTION:The new Uniform Appraisal Dataset (UAD 3.6) is slated to bring big changes\, from the datapoints appraisers are required to provide to the way appraisal results are reported; soon appraisal forms for individual property types will be a thing of the past for most appraisals. Some lenders will begin using the new UAD as early as September 2025\, and use of UAD 3.6 is required for all Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac loans in November of 2026. What are the new datapoints appraisers will need to complete appraisals? And how can agents supply this information to appraisers to ease the transition? \nKen DeFeo\, Senior Manager\, Collateral Policy and Strategy\, Fannie Mae\, and Sean Murphy\, Credit Policy Risk Analytics Manager\, Freddie Mac will join us to explain why the UAD is being updated\, provide examples of data required and what the new reporting look will look like and give you resources to get prepared.
