Local Political Coordinators
Local Political Coordinators (LPCs) are selected REALTOR® members who desire to be engaged in the grassroots and advocacy efforts for the communities in which they live and serve. LPCs play a crucial role in ensuring that real estate professionals have representation in the local government decision making that impact all things related to real estate.
Each member that serves as an LPC will be assigned to a municipality or entity within that municipality, in efforts to cultivate a relationship with their elected officials, share information back to their local association, and educate officials on issues important to the real estate industry and private property rights.
Whether you’re starting a program from the ground up or revitalizing an existing one, we’re here to help you achieve your local advocacy goals.
Key Tips for an LPC:
- Communicating Policy Updates: Share critical legislative and regulatory updates back to your local association to keep them engaged in advocacy efforts.
- Monitoring Local Issues: Stay informed about municipal and county-level policies affecting real estate, housing, property rights, and economic development.
- Engaging in Advocacy Efforts: Support REALTOR® advocacy initiatives, including Calls for Action, attending meetings, and participating in legislative events.
- Focus on Building Relationships: Establish and maintain connections with local elected officials (mayors, city council members, county commissioners, etc.) to advocate for REALTOR® priorities. Be a member of the REALTOR® Party, putting policy over politics to help protect and promote homeownership.
