Mosaic | Discussions on Diversity event

Committed to diversity in everything we do.

Diversity, Equity & Inclusion

Have a positive impact by promoting and encouraging diversity, equity and inclusion through a variety of channels. Get involved with the Diversity Committee, create and participate in diversity-focused campaigns and promote the real estate profession as a viable career for all demographics through community and industry engagement.

Piece by piece, we’re working together to create a beautiful and more complete picture of what diversity and inclusion can do for the real estate industry, our communities in North Carolina and across the globe. That’s why we started the MOSAIC campaign. We’re highlighting the diversity of our members, showcasing our commitment to the REALTOR® Code of Ethics, encouraging discussions on diversity and inclusion in our communities and working together to be ambassadors of social change.

Join The Diversity Community on Facebook

NC REALTORS® created The Diversity Community, a Facebook group sponsored by the Diversity Committee. We invite all NC REALTORS® members to participate in this community, share stories and promote diversity and inclusion.

NC REALTORS® Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Commitment Statement

NC REALTORS®, representing over 50,000 REALTORS® who reside in diverse communities across North Carolina, embodies our REALTOR® Code of Ethics, the governing document which protects the housing rights of all people, regardless of race, color, religion, sex, handicap, familial status, national origin, sexual orientation, or gender identity. We embrace equality and inclusivity, honoring individuals and respecting differing perspectives to reach common goals for the betterment of all. Racism and discrimination have no home in North Carolina.

Adopted by the NC REALTORS® Board of Directors on October 15, 2020

Diversity Holidays & Observances

Our world is growing increasingly diverse and every year is filled with an abundance of holidays celebrating various dimensions of diversity. Knowledge of diversity holidays can enhance your work and promotion of diversity and inclusion initiatives. Below is a great resource and calendar from The Diversity Movement.

2023 Calendar

NC REALTORS® Diversity Committee

The goal of the Diversity Committee is to promote REALTOR® voices in an inclusionary manner that reflects its members, local communities, and statewide diversity opportunities and initiatives. Meet some of the members of NC REALTORS® Diversity Committee and find out why diversity is important to them.

Want to get involved on the Diversity Committee?

Join other NC REALTORS® to develop programs and recommend policies to help manage risk in the area of housing discrimination and to help provide equal professional services to all. Learn more and apply for a position on the committee in April.

MOSAIC | Discussions on Diversity Event

On October 8, 2019, hundreds of NC REALTORS® came together to have a candid conversation on diversity – what it means, why it’s vital to the economy in North Carolina and how it applies to the way we do business.

Several of our very own NC REALTORS® even took the hot seat to talk about how diversity and inclusion impacted them and their business:

  • Asa Fleming, 2019 President, NC REALTORS®
  • Brenda Hayden, 2019 President, Charlotte Regional REALTOR® Association
  • Anthony Lindsey, Coldwell Banker, Charlotte
  • Wendell Bullard, Bullard Properties, LLC, Durham
  • Sandra O’Connor, Allen Tate Green Valley, Greensboro
