    Before becoming a REALTOR®, you first must earn a real estate license. All North Carolina real estate professionals are licensed by the North Carolina Real Estate Commission (NCREC).

    Once you have your license, consider taking an extra step toward competence and professionalism by joining your local, state, and national Associations of REALTORS®. Then, and only then, may you legally use the term “REALTOR®” following your name, a symbol that identifies a real estate professional who is a member of the REALTOR® family and subscribes to its strict Code of Ethics.

    NC REALTORS® is seeking a full-time GRI Coordinator to manage the North Carolina Graduate REALTOR® Institute (GRI) designation program. Required competencies include: ability to work in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Adobe products; exceptional organization skills; ability to meet deadlines; detail oriented with the ability to provide creative input and thoughtful suggestions; ability to work as a team member; excellent communication skills; and ability to provide exemplary customer service. Database management and manipulation experience is beneficial. Some travel is required.

    The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 2 years of professional experience in events, hospitality, education, marketing or other related field.

    Chelsea Hughes is the education manager for NC REALTORS®. She earned her B.A in Communication Studies and Business Administration from the University of North Carolina – Greensboro.     Tyler HelmsTyler Helms

    Tyler is the IT Director for NC REALTORS® headquartered in their Greensboro, NC office. He joined the NC REALTORS® family in 2013 after graduating from North Carolina State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Technology, Engineering, and Design Education. Since joining the NC REALTOR® staff, Tyler has become an integral part in upgrading the association’s technology platforms, from website and social media to software and hardware throughout the office. His role in the Communications Department has expanded the association’s communication base through the use of technology. Tyler moderates and runs the Webinar Wednesday series and is responsible for editing, filming, and photographing NC REALTORS® events and marketing campaigns.     Cady ThomasCady Thomas

    Senior Vice President of Government Affairs

    Cady Thomas is the Senior Vice President of Government Affairs for NC REALTORS®. Cady has worked with NC REALTORS® since 2008, serving first as the Director of Regulatory Affairs. In this position, Cady was responsible for advocacy efforts before the boards and commissions that affected the real estate industry. After two years, she was promoted to the Director of Government Affairs where she is responsible for leading the association’s government affairs department. Cady is responsible for the oversight of the legislative and regulatory lobbying, political fundraising, independent expenditure program, grassroots development, local issues assistance and other political activities conducted by the association. In this role, she has organized multimillion dollar political campaigns, advanced intensive legislative goals, and facilitated one of the state’s largest political action committees.

    Prior to joining the REALTORS® staff, Cady practiced Corporate Law and Capital Markets with the law firm Kilpatrick Stockton LLP, now Kilpatrick Townsend LLP, in Raleigh. During her time with Kilpatrick, she focused on mergers and acquisitions, venture capital financing and commercial mortgage securities transactions. Prior to her graduate studies, Cady worked on Capitol Hill for a prominent United States Senator.

    Seth PalmerSeth Palmer

    Political Communications and Regulatory Affairs Director

    Seth Palmer is the Political Communications and Regulatory Affairs Director for NC REALTORS®. In this role, he represents NC REALTORS® before state regulatory bodies. Additionally he manages the association’s advocacy communications activities, including Calls for Action and REALTOR® Party communications resources. Finally, Seth serves as the staff liaison for the NC REALTORS® Appraisal Section, a specialty division representing licensed appraisers on legislative and regulatory issues.

    Seth began his work with NC REALTORS® in 2014, first as a Shared Local Government Affairs Director and later as the Director of Political Communications before moving into his current role. Prior to joining NC REALTORS®, Seth served in multiple roles in North Carolina government, including on the staffs of the House Majority Leader, Lieutenant Governor, and Secretary of the Department of Transportation. He also served as the president of his own consulting firm, assisting clients with strategic communications and research projects.

    A Wilmington native, Seth is an aspiring barbecue sauce entrepreneur with his award-winning blended sauce.

    Michael LandesMike Landes

    Director of Political Operations

    Mike Landes is the Director of Political Operations for NC REALTORS®. He directs the NC Homeowners Alliance, NC REALTORS®’s grassroots advocacy program, and is the liaison the REALTORS® Commercial Alliance. Originally from Massachusetts, Mike moved to North Carolina to attend Duke University’s Sanford School for his graduate coursework. Mike has held a variety of positions across the nonprofit world, and most recently worked for Campaign Connections, a political consulting firm in Raleigh, before joining NC REALTORS® in 2014.

    In his free time, Mike is in the midst of directing and producing on a documentary called “Staring Up from the Mineshaft” which casts a spotlight on poverty and the limits of economic opportunity in the coal mining populations of southern West Virginia.

    Nick Scarci is the Local Government Affairs Director for NC REALTORS®. In this role, he manages local government affairs initiatives for the Greensboro Regional REALTORS® Association and the High Point Regional Association of REALTORS®.

    During his time undergraduate studies, he studied abroad in Amman, Jordan and was an intern with the U.S. State Department in Santiago, Chile. Prior to joining NC REALTORS® in 2016, he worked on several statewide campaigns in Pennsylvania, as well as for a Pennsylvania State Representative.

    Nicole ArnoldNicole Arnold

    Director of Community Outreach and Local Government Affairs 

    Nicole Arnold is the Director of Community Outreach and Local Government Affairs for NC REALTORS®. Nicole has worked with NC REALTORS® since 20012, serving as the first Shared Government Affairs Director in partnership with local associations.  Since then, Nicole has served as Political Communications Director and was promoted to manage a team of local lobbyists who champion private property rights and develop relationships with elected officials.  Under Nicole’s influence, the Local Government Affairs program continues to grow.  Since 2015, Nicole became board liaison to Homes4NC, the charitable arm of NC REALTORS®.  In this capacity Nicole aids the Board of Directors in their strategic community investments.  Nicole counts it an honor to improve quality of life and build political muscle for the largest trade association in the state.

    Prior to joining the REALTORS® staff, Nicole worked as a financial, new media and web design consultant for numerous political campaigns at the federal, state, and local levels.  She also worked in the nonprofit arts sector for several years and completed a masters degree in public administration with a concentration in nonprofit management.
