Senior Vice President of Political Strategy

NC REALTORS® is seeking a full-time Senior Vice President of Political Strategy to lead and manage the Association’s Government Affairs Department in Raleigh, North Carolina. NC REALTORS® Government Affairs Department maintains a diverse and comprehensive array of programs targeting the state’s legislative, regulatory and political matters. The Senior Vice President of Political Strategy is responsible for strategically positioning NC REALTORS® as the most influential organization in North Carolina.

The successful candidate will have strong analytical abilities in order to effectively react to legislative and regulatory issues and proposals. Excellent written and verbal communication skills required, including strength in media relations, interpersonal communication and public speaking. Strong political and strategic skills are required. Candidates must be creative and have strong organizational skills as well as ability to digest and utilize information from national, state and local perspectives. Travel to state and national meetings throughout the year is required.

Candidates should have considerable experience in government relations, public affairs and/or public policy. Candidates should also have extensive knowledge of the real estate industry. A minimum of 15 years of professional experience and a minimum of 7 years of supervisory and management experience is required.

A bachelor’s degree from a four-year institution is required. A law degree or advanced degree in in management, public policy, government relations or political science is preferred.
