Regional Government Affairs Director (GAD) – Coastal NC (REPOST)

NC REALTORS® seeks a dynamic Regional Government Affairs Director (GAD) to join our field team. The Regional GAD coordinates member-driven advocacy services for REALTORS® and their local associations. In this role, you will facilitate local fundraising efforts for the REALTOR® Political Action Committee and assist local associations with grassroots coordination and community engagement projects, all while serving as a conduit of information about federal and state legislative priorities from NAR and our Raleigh advocacy team.

This position is responsible for developing strong relationships with REALTOR® members and empowering them to take part in the advocacy work of the local, state, and national REALTOR® associations. If you want to serve members and play a role on an established and successful advocacy team, this could be the role for you.

The Regional GAD serves seven REALTOR® Associations on the coast of North Carolina. A map of the region served is available upon request.

The successful candidate will have two or more years’ relevant experience:

  • Basic knowledge of the political process and politics.
  • Experience in local governments, government affairs, grassroots organizations, or political campaigns.
  • Fundraising experience.
  • An energetic self-starter who can handle the responsibilities of a remote role while integrating themselves into a team.
  • Organizational skills, ability to meet deadlines and work with limited supervision.
  • Dedication to customer service, problem resolution and working collaboratively to achieve goals and objectives.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year institution is required. Reliable transportation for daily travel throughout assigned region is mandatory.

NC REALTORS® is seeking a proactive, experienced Controller to join our team. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Controller manages the overall direction, coordination, and deliverables of the accounting of the association and related entities. This position carries out supervisory responsibilities for accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, external auditing and monthly financial reporting activities including compliance with all internal controls and reconciliation of membership dues with local boards. Candidates should have:

  • Ability to manage staff and delegate to accomplish objectives
  • Ability to work well under pressure of deadlines
  • Ability to establish good rapport with staff and peers; excellent communication skills required
  • Experience developing and implementing strategies to adapt to administrative and policy changes
  • Demonstrated mastery of Excel and Denali, familiarity with RAMCO a plus
  • A bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration is required, as is demonstrated accounting experience with increasing levels of responsibility.
  • Personnel management experience required.

This position will be located in the Greensboro office of NC REALTORS®.
