2026 Legislative Meetings Recap: Members Drive Advocacy, Board Approves Key Initiatives
More than 650 REALTORS® from across North Carolina gathered in Raleigh June 1–4 for the 2026 NC REALTORS® Legislative Meetings, connecting with colleagues, participating in committee and governance meetings, and advocating for issues impacting homeownership and private property rights. The event welcomed 237 first-time attendees, highlighting continued member engagement and the growing involvement of REALTORS® from across the state.
Board Approves 2027–2029 Strategic Plan
During Legislative Meetings, the NC REALTORS® Board of Directors approved the association’s 2027–2029 Strategic Plan, establishing a roadmap for the organization over the next three years. The plan continues to focus on five key priorities: Collaborative, Prepared, Influential, Focused, and Integral. The updated plan also places greater emphasis on emerging issues such as artificial intelligence, member engagement, communications, professional development, and ensuring REALTORS® remain prepared for a rapidly changing industry.
The Strategic Plan will guide future investments, programs, advocacy efforts, and member services while continuing to strengthen the value NC REALTORS® provides to members across the state.
Board Commits $150,000 Annually to REALTORS® Relief Foundation
The Board of Directors also approved a commitment of $150,000 annually over the next four years to the REALTORS® Relief Foundation (RRF) as the organization celebrates its 25th anniversary. In addition, the Executive Committee recently increased this year’s contribution to $150,000, further demonstrating NC REALTORS®’ commitment to disaster recovery efforts and housing stability.
The commitment comes as North Carolina communities continue recovering from the impacts of Hurricane Helene and other natural disasters. Over the years, North Carolina has received more than $2 million in REALTORS® Relief Foundation assistance to help homeowners recover and rebuild following disasters.
REALTORS® Advocate for Housing Solutions
A key component of Legislative Meetings was member advocacy at the North Carolina General Assembly. REALTORS® met with lawmakers to discuss housing availability and affordability, emphasizing the need for policies that help address North Carolina’s growing housing shortage while supporting homeownership opportunities, private property rights, and strong communities. NC REALTORS® continues to work with elected officials on issues that impact REALTORS®, homeowners, and property owners throughout the state.
RPAC Surpasses Halfway Mark
Members also received an update on RPAC fundraising efforts. RPAC is now more than halfway toward reaching its 2026 fundraising goal, strengthening the REALTOR® voice on legislative and regulatory issues affecting the real estate industry.
Looking Ahead
The success of Legislative Meetings reflects the strength of member engagement and the important role REALTORS® play in shaping the future of housing and property ownership in North Carolina. NC REALTORS® extends its appreciation to volunteer leaders, committee members, local association leaders, RPAC investors, and staff whose dedication continues to advance the REALTOR® profession and protect the interests of property owners across the state.
