State Political Coordinators

State Political Coordinators

PURPOSE

Inspired by NAR’s Federal Political Coordinator program, NC REALTORS® created the State Political Coordinator program to enhance legislative advocacy by connecting every North Carolina state legislator with a trusted REALTOR® voice on REALTOR® Party issues. SPCs are activated at strategic moments to influence policy decisions affecting NC REALTORS®.

Q: Why does NC REALTORS® have an SPC Program?

The program strengthens the association’s legislative advocacy by creating a network of REALTORS® who can be activated at strategic times to engage with state legislators on issues impacting the real estate profession.

Q: What are the responsibilities of an SPC?

SPC duties include:

  • Building and maintaining a professional relationship with their assigned legislator.

Yes! NC REALTORS® staff and lobbying team offer advocacy trainings in-person and on Zoom that provide insight on the legislative process, REALTOR® priorities and insight on effectively engaging with elected officials.

SPCs serve on a voluntary basis. NC REALTORS® does, however, offer a travel stipend for SPC attendance at NC REALTORS® Legislative Meetings.
