May 27 @ 12:30 pm – 5:00 pm
How does attending one class that fulfills your 4-hour CE Elective AND BOTH NAR Ethics and Fair Housing sound?!
We are so excited to offer just that for you! “Serving with Integrity: An Ethics and Fair Housing Course” is an engaging 4-hour CE elective course which also satisfies your NAR Ethics AND Fair Housing Requirement! This is a brand new course and Cape Fear REALTORS®, in partnership with NC REALTORS®, is one of the first associations to bring it to you!
This course will provide an overview of the framework of the REALTORS®’ Code of Ethics, beginning with the aspirational concepts of the Preamble, then moving to the current Articles and Standards of Practice, and finishing with methods of enforcement. Participants will then examine existing Fair Housing legislation with a focus on identifying protected classes, exploring the neurological basis of implicit bias, and strategies for effectively avoiding biased behavior in our real estate practice.

This class provides the following credit: 4 hours of CE
Light refreshments will be provided.

That’s My Instructor
Katherine Kirchner is a dedicated real estate educator with roots across North Carolina that stretch back to 1985, when she first moved to Wilmington. Beginning as a high school English teacher, Katherine transitioned to real estate in 2015 and, shortly thereafter, briefly joined the North Carolina Real Estate Commission to redesign and deliver the 12-hour Broker-In-Charge course. From there, Katherine began writing electives for other states while teaching Pre- and Post-licensing classes, before starting her own school, That’s My Instructor, in 2023. Since that time, she has been teaching virtually, and crossing the state to bring Updates, REALTORS’ courses, and her own exclusive North Carolina Electives to the brokers who need them. Now, she is excited to bring that expertise back to her first hometown in North Carolina.
