The 2025 Broker-in-Charge Summit, hosted by NC REALTORS® in partnership with the National Association of REALTORS®’ Broker Engagement Team and Sherry Chris, Special Advisor to Brokerages, is designed to strengthen broker engagement and deliver timely, business-focused insights.
This two-hour virtual program features expert perspectives on market trends and association initiatives, with sessions led by thought leader Matthew Ferrara and key NAR representatives. A panel of North Carolina brokerage leaders will also share firsthand perspectives on current challenges and opportunities facing the industry.
The summit aligns with NC REALTORS®’ broader efforts to build stronger relationships with brokerage leaders and provide tangible resources to support their continued success.

Speakers
Matthew Ferrara
Matthew Ferrara has a degree in philosophy, is a photographer, writer, mentor, and professional speaker. He has spent the last 33 years traveling the world and helping others grow their lives and careers through creativity, inspiration and leadership. Matthew’s journey began with talk radio and shifted into real estate in 1991. He has led a training firm, industry call center, online learning portal and executive mentoring firm. Matthew is an advisor to organizations in 49 states and 33 countries.
Matthew’s work draws connections between many disciplines such as business, innovation, art, history, leadership and technology that create unique insights into growth for the modern world. His perspectives include roles as salesperson, CEO, entrepreneur, artist and cancer survivor.
Matthew attended Phillips Academy Andover, went to school in Bologna, Italy, earned degrees in philosophy and economics, moved from Boston to Las Vegas and has flown enough miles to visit the moon and back over five times. He has keynoted conferences and hosted retreats around the world, has been translated into eight languages and his photographs have been auctioned for charities and social causes frequently.

Lawrence Yun
Chief Economist
National Association of REALTORS®
Lawrence Yun is Chief Economist and oversees the Research group at the NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS®. He supervises and is responsible for a wide range of research activities for the association, including NAR’s Existing Home Sales statistics, Affordability Index, and Home Buyers and Sellers Profile Report. He regularly provides commentary on real estate market trends.
Dr. Yun creates NAR’s forecasts and participates in many economic forecasting panels, among them the Blue Chip Council and the Wall Street Journal Forecasting Survey. He also participates in the Industrial Economists Discussion Group at the Joint Center for Housing Studies of Harvard University. He appears regularly on financial news outlets, is a frequent speaker at real estate conferences throughout the United States, and has testified before Congress. Dr. Yun has also appeared as a guest on CSPAN’s Washington Journal. In 2025, the Wall Street Journal congratulated him for having one of the closest forecasts for 2024.
Dr. Yun received his undergraduate degree from Purdue University and earned his Ph.D. from the University of Maryland at College Park.
Cancellations: Cancellations may be processed online and will be accepted up to one (1) business day preceding each course. Course registration less a cancellation fee may apply. Refunds will not be granted to no-shows or last minute cancellations.
To cancel a class: Login to the NC REALTORS® website. Find your class under “Upcoming Events” on the Member Dashboard or by locating the class you want to cancel on the NC REALTORS® calendar. Under registration details, you will see an option to “Cancel”. On the following page, select “Submit Cancellation”.
NCR reserves the right to cancel/change any course at any time. If a course is canceled, you will be notified as soon as possible. You will receive either a full refund or, if rescheduled, you may transfer to the new date. NCR is not responsible for any out-of-pocket expenses (lodging, airfare, etc.) you may incur when a course is canceled or rescheduled.
